We are currently seeking a Technical Training Specialist that will be able to take our training to the next level. This position will be training from a menu of technical topics and provide assistance in instructional design to support company products. This position will be a hybrid solution with both time in the office and WFH during the week. This position can be located near Fontana, CA, Salisbury, NC, or Lincoln NE.

Overview

The successful candidate will be an engaging speaker, comfortable teaching technical content to a variety of audiences including internal business units, field technicians, customers, drivers, technicians, and service managers. Strong mechanical aptitude is required to understand the products and deliver information to users in an impactful way. Other responsibilities include managing, shipping, and receiving training aid kits to customers to correspond with training. Organize and communicate with customers prior to training events to ensure all travel, classroom setup, mailing training kits, and delivering training to customers and internal audiences both in-person, virtual, and online training. This position will have the opportunity for international travel to conduct training. A passport is necessary for this position. Spanish speaking is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and conduct comprehensive training courses, both virtual and in-person training (as travel restrictions allow)

  • Document training programs, including outline, tests, handouts, laboratory exercises, and visual presentations for internal Hexagon Technicians, customers, end users, fleets, dealers, and OEM partners.

  • Conduct training to both internal and external customers using new or existing Learning Management System with e-Learning topics, virtual training platforms (i.e., Microsoft Teams), or live onsite or classroom training.

  • With guidance from the Technical Training Manager and internal stakeholders, develop new course content to support online and classroom style training needs.

  • Incorporate established style and latest instructional design trends into new training content

  • Organize special training events as needed, such as in-person training seminars held at Hexagon Agility training facilities or coordinated with industry partner events.

  • Stay current on contemporary training, educational and certification methodologies, and multimedia technologies.

  • Support customer training schedules spanning multiple time zones and shifts.

  • Travel may be required up to 35% or more both domestically and internationally.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Comfortable with public speaking in-person and online audiences (Microsoft Teams and similar types of Virtual Instructor Led Training software)

  • Previous work experience working in technical troubleshooting and training of mechanical systems and/or relative combination of job experience and education.

  • Working knowledge of CNG fuel systems desired.

  • Previous experience working with course content software (such as Storyline, Rise, Vyond, and Power Point) to develop online courses, virtual instructor-led courses, and designing live classroom type training

  • Microsoft Office software skills (Work, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Bi-lingual; Spanish/English highly desirable.

  • Self-starter, able to work independently with minimal direction

  • Desire to learn and grow with the business

Credentials and Experience

  • Prior hands-on experience in automotive industry

  • Experience with CNG, alternative fuels, or other high-pressure fluid systems is a plus

  • Minimum three years training experience, both in-person and virtual platforms

  • Proficient with MS Office 365 suite (PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint)

  • Proficient with virtual meeting software, especially MS Team
