Description
We are in search of an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in the education sector at our Salisbury, North Carolina location. Your role will encompass a variety of tasks centered around managing student accounts and supporting accounts receivable processes. Responsibilities:
• Oversee the accurate maintenance of student account charges, including tuition, room and board, student insurance, and other related fees.
• Facilitate the processing, verification, and posting of payments from students, families, and campus departments.
• Carry out timely and accurate reconciliation of Financial Aid and G/L Student Accounts Receivables.
• Ensure the accurate and timely completion of student refund reports.
• Manage compliance with Title IV federal and state regulations regarding student refunds.
• Oversee the issuance and management of e-billing and account statements for students and their families.
• Support accounts receivable processes during key times, such as payment due dates and final registrations.
• Generate regular reports on student accounts receivables and collection activities.
• Collaborate on collection efforts, including managing aged trial balances and third-party accounts.
• Assist with the accurate and timely completion and filing of 1098-T and 1042 Tax forms for all students.
• Regularly compare student account transactions with the institution’s general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate collection activities and collaborate on reporting for past-due accounts.
• Produce and provide student account-related reports for internal departments as requested.
• Maintain complete and accurate records of all student account transactions, billing activities, and reconciliations.
Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential for effective management of financial data.
• Familiarity with Concur is necessary to streamline the expense management process.
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions is required to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) is crucial for maintaining the financial health of the university.
• Expertise in managing Accounts Receivable (AR) is needed to ensure timely collection of payments.
• Knowledge in Auditing is important for ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Ability to oversee Billing Functions is necessary to ensure accurate invoicing and payment collection.
