We are searching for a seasoned Grain Terminal Manager to join our team in Salisbury, MD. The Grain Terminal Manager will lead and manage the facility associates to maximize the facility efficiencies and productivity, lead the facility safety and environmental process, and lead the customer service function for the facility. To manage the facility's production, logistics, and inventory control processes. To prepare forecast requirements, analyze cost expenditures, and prepare annual budget requirements. To recommend capital projects that will enhance productivity, customer service, and quality.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the activities of facility personnel that receive, dry, store, and distribute grain. This includes hiring, training, and developing the staff to meet the needs of the facility.

  • Develop, lead, and administer an effective and proactive process to provide a safe working environment for all associates in accordance with Federal State, Local regulations, and Perdue AgriBusiness requirements.

  • Develop, lead, and administer an effective and proactive program to prevent environmental incidents and ensure compliance with all applicable Federal State, Local regulations, and Perdue AgriBusiness requirements.

  • Ensure service and equity of grades is provided to both internal and external customers.

  • Administer an effective Inventory Control Program to maintain quality and quantity of inventory handled at the facility and ensure compliance with USDA Warehousing, FDA regulations and Perdue Grain & Oilseed LLC requirements.

  • Ensure routine and preventative maintenance is performed on all equipment to ensure maximum availability, operating efficiency, and longevity.

  • Identify opportunities, synergies, and improvements to increase facility operating effectiveness and reduce operating costs. This includes the development of capital plans and execution of individual projects according to plan.

  • Coordinate with grain merchandising to ensure positive customer relationships and effective planning to provide for timely and least cost movement of grain.

Minimum Education

  • BS Degree (Agriculture, Logistics, Ag Economics, Ag Technologies, Business) preferred

  • 7 – 10 years grain operations experience can be substituted for BS Degree

Experience Requirements

  • 5 – 7 years of grain operations experience

  • 3 – 5 years of supervisory/management experience

  • Knowledge of grain receiving and storage technologies

  • Knowledge of Federal and State environmental regulations

  • Knowledge of Federal and State OSHA regulations

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong math, organizational, and analytical skills

  • Understanding of standard software applications

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Able to move freely throughout the AgriBusiness facilities to include climbing vertical heights (0 - 150'), carrying tools and equipment (0-50 pounds), exposure to extreme temperatures (0-100 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity, (0 - 100%), noise (50db to 100db) and chemicals (MSDS sheets available). Must be able to wear protective equipment to include self-contained breathing apparatus. Required to travel to remote AgriBusiness facilities and customer locations.
