Summary

Perdue AgriBusiness is seeking an Electrical Mechanical Maintenance Mechanic in Salisbury, MD to support our Soybean Processing facility.

This position will be responsible to perform assigned electrical and/or mechanical duties within scope of classification to include equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, emergency breakdown, and equipment failure.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on Mechanical and Electrical equipment.

  • Diagnose failures to mechanical and electrical equipment and make repairs.

  • Rebuild mechanical and electrical equipment.

  • Fabricate sheet metal and conduit.

  • Compile and complete paperwork relative to repairs to include but not limited to work orders, time cards, and job cards.

  • Perform all work within safety guidelines established by local, state, and federal agencies as well as company policies

  • Respond to calls after hours and on weekends to repair mechanical equipment failures.

  • Perform other assigned tasks as assigned

Minimum Education

  • High School or equivalent

  • Advanced electrical training preferred

Experience Requirements

  • 1 - 4 years of related experience

  • General knowledge of computer, operating and network systems

  • Basics of working around and using High Voltage equipment

  • Basics of microprocessor-based equipment (loop controllers, VFD, etc.)

  • Experience with gearbox systems, pump systems, conveyors, pneumatics and hydraulics

  • Welding experience, mig and stick

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is active. Able to move freely throughout the AgriBusiness facilities to include climbing vertical ladders (0 - 150'), carrying tools and equipment (0 – 50 pounds), exposure to extreme temperatures (0 - 100 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity, (0 - 100%), noise (50db to 100db) and chemicals (MSDS sheets available). Must be able to wear protective equipment to include self-contained breathing apparatus. Required to travel to remote AgriBusiness facilities.
