Job Summary and Qualifications

Safely transports to assigned areas, assists patient in lifting, moving ,transferring as needed.

Cleans transport equipment daily.

Replenishes O2 tank supply and handles O2 equipment safely.

Assists technologist in transferring and the observation of patients.

Communicates effectively with all patients, families, peers, supervisors, and other departments

Stocks linen and keeps blanket supply replenished in warmer.

Provides assistance as needed to fulfill patient and other customer requests.

Answers phones, relays message, communicates with patients/visitors, and directs information to appropriate personnel.

Enters exams into CPCS radiology module for CT, MRI, and Diagnostic Departments.

Notifies departments of patient’s arrival and escorts patients to appropriate waiting area.

Prepares radiology reports for distribution to physicians. Responsible for batch printing and sorting reports.

Calls in technologists as necessary for procedures during evenings and weekends.

Escorts patients to dressing rooms and provides instructions for changing into gowns as appropriate.

Keeps patients informed of delays in procedures.

Checks in outside exams when received from patient for comparison.

Maintains all outpatient paperwork and reports and files appropriately.

Distributes CD’s to patients as requested by patient for follow-up at other facility.

Pick up and deliver mail to/from mailroom.

Look up diagnostic studies in Meditech to determine if prior study is available PACS.

What qualifications you will need:

EXPERIENCE

Preferred - Prior experience in patient care or as a hospital transporter.

EDUCATION

Required - BLS

Preferred - Same as above with computer knowledge
