Position Summary :

Are you ready to play an integral role in creating a safer and more open world as a member of our Purchasing Department? At Medeco we're looking for a proactive and skilled Buyer to join our dynamic team supplying high security locks to industry and government customers. In this role, you'll be responsible for procuring essential production materials, maintenance, repair, and operating supplies, driving supplier improvements, and ensuring seamless supplier deliveries and quality.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Strategic Procurement : Manage the procurement of maintenance, repair, and operating supplies to support machinery uptime and improve operational efficiency.

  • Inventory Management : Process purchase orders, maintain inventory accuracy, and forecast demand to optimize material and inventory levels.

  • Supplier Relations : Drive continuous improvement with suppliers, manage pricing, quality, and on-time deliveries, and resolve issues with defective goods or services.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with Managers, Supervisors, Production, Receiving, and Accounting to ensure smooth operations and timely payments.

  • System Maintenance : Maintain purchasing information and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines using JD Edwards.

  • Project Management : Lead projects to enhance capacity, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness within the supply chain.

  • Continuous Improvement : Stay updated with advanced techniques, methodologies, and theories in both Manufacturing and Purchasing.

    Minimum Qualifications :

  • Associate degree in business administration, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Three years of experience as a direct inventory buyer in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficient in using MRP or Supply/Demand systems with at least three years of experience.

  • Knowledge of inventory control techniques and basic engineering processes.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Excellent organizational and data entry skills.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

  • Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities.
