The Marion County Sheriff\'s Office is seeking both trainee and certified applicants to join our Community Corrections team as a Deputy Sheriff. Often referred to as Parole and Probation, the Community Corrections Division serves a diverse clientele through the delivery of a wide array of services while embracing Evidence Based Practices and Community Policing as our guiding philosophies. Deputy Sheriffs with Community Corrections provide supervision to clients as they work collaboratively to assist them with their successful reentry into the community. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be service-oriented, and be willing to work in a team environment. We are a qualifying employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. WAGES \$30.08 - \$40.28 Trainee Pay Rate* \$33.13 - \$47.32 Certified Pay Rate* REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION Must meet the following State Department of Public Safety Standards and Training requirements: 1. United States Citizen within one year of employment 2. At least 21 years of age at the time of employment (Marion County Sheriff\'s Office will consider applicants who are age 20, if they meet the qualifications of the position and are age 21 within 90 days from the recruitment close date.) 3. Declared by a physician as able to perform the physical duties required by the occupation. 4. Of good moral fitness, without legal conduct involving moral turpitude, dishonesty, fraud, deceit, misrepresentation, and conviction of drug and/or sex crimes. 5.
