Job Description

This position follows our hybrid-friendly schedule, so you get the best of both worlds – flexibility and collaboration. In office days will be 2-3 per week averaging 10-12 days per month.

Job Summary:

This position is for the manager of the Cloud Operations team. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing a team of Cloud Engineers, ensuring that objectives are met, and ensuring that flow is continuously evaluated and optimized. This person will conduct performance reviews, adhere to a budget, and manage project deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage underlying AWS infrastructure for Raymond James

  • Responsible for networking in the cloud

  • Manage accounts, business groups, and tagging within AWS environment, report on and manage chargebacks within the organization

  • Provide direction for cloud security posture management and support for incident resolutions

  • Drive advances in technologies and architectures to increase the value delivered by technology and digital capabilities, either through improvements to the efficiency of the technology environment or through those that reduce the total cost of technology operations. Recommend and participate in activities related to the design, development, and maintenance of digital capabilities within the enterprise architecture.

  • Develop existing and new capabilities by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement.

  • Explore and develop a detailed understanding of external developments or emerging issues and evaluate their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization.

  • Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision, and values; motivate people to commit to these and to do extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.

  • Use the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs. Plan and implement actions, including continuing professional development specified by professional or regulatory institutions, to build their professional capabilities. Provide informal training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.

  • Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project/account team members and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team/personal objectives.

Skills:

  • Strong experience with AWS

  • Knowledge of Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM)

  • Knowledge of Cloud & On-Prem Networking

  • Knowledge of AWS IAM, VPCs, Transit Gateways, EKS, Lambda, EC2, and other AWS services

  • Experience managing Organizations & Accounts and FinOps

  • Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently while providing guidance and training to others on developing appropriate plans or performing necessary actions based on recommendations and requirements.

  • Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently while providing guidance and training to others on analyzing data from multiple sources to draw appropriate conclusions and make suitable recommendations.

  • Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently on costing, budgeting and finance tasks while providing guidance and training to others.

  • Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently while providing guidance and training to others on developing, monitoring, interpreting and understanding policies and procedures, while making sure they match organizational strategies and objectives.

  • Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to act independently while guiding and training others on analyzing the business requirements that IT solutions must meet.

  • Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to act independently while guiding and training others on managing information throughout its lifecycle by designing and executing appropriate architectures, policies and practices.

  • Applies comprehensive knowledge and/or skills to independently engage in strategic planning.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • AWS licenses preferred but not required

Education

Bachelor’s: Computer and Information Science, Bachelor’s: Data Science, Bachelor’s: Information Technology
