Kimley-Horn Aviation Civil Engineer in Saint Paul, Minnesota

Overview

Kimley-Horn's Twin Cities office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join their Aviation team! This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of engineers and designers on a variety of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare analysis reports in support of airport planning, design, and construction.

  • Manage project tasks, develop plans and specifications, observe construction operations, and coordinate work with other team members.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and engineering technicians.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to contribute to the successful completion of assigned projects.

  • Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, and regulations in all project activities.

  • Maintain quality plans along with checking the work of others.

  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to meet project objectives and deadlines.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of general civil, land development, municipal or aviation engineering design experience.

  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months).

  • Familiarity with contract document preparation and cost estimating.

  • Familiarity with pavement design.

  • Familiarity with construction methods, materials and techniques.

  • Strong desire and passion to work as part of a team to develop solutions for our client’s needs.

  • Strong AutoCAD, Civil 3D experience.

  • Ability to work in a team; both collaborating with and mentoring junior staff.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
