What you will be working on (Job Description):

As a Sr. Hybrid Cloud Platform Engineer, you will work on a development team, utilizing Agile scrum methodology, which is responsible for developing and maintain agency wide asynchronous messaging capability deployed across multiple security domains. The environment supports multiple tenants with a variety of different use case to support our intelligence customer in Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform OandM of existing Apache Pulsar services hosted on Red Hat Openshift across multiple security domains in both cloud and datacenter (vSphere) environments.
  • Support deployment using Red Hat Openshift, Keycloak, GitLab, GitLab CI, GitOps, Harbor, and more.
  • Deploy to new sites as they come online.
  • Work with internal and external teams to understand integration requirements.
  • Collaborate with Security to ensure ongoing compliance and develop secure solutions.
  • Compile detailed documentation.

What you will bring to us (Required Skills):

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelors Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
    • 10+ years of developer experience.
    • Meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements, including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA.

Would be nice if you bring the following (Highly Desired):

  • Experience deploying and managing RedHat OpenShift in a cloud and/or vSphere environment.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services.
  • Knowledge of Python, Shell scripting, Git.
  • Familiarity with Linux distributions: RHEL/RHCOS, CentOS.
  • Experience with CI/CD orchestration tools: GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitOps.
  • Knowledge of container technology: Docker, Kubernetes, and the Cloud Native Computing Foundation ecosystem in general.
  • Desired Certifications:
    • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift.
