Objective :

Perform tasks within full-scale production manufacturing operations, including routine assembly; and/or quality and reliability testing following established methods and procedures. Associates will be cross-trained on various assembly processes and procedures and expected to effectively perform any/all assigned tasks within the production/manufacturing operations while meeting the standard run time associated with each item.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively execute/complete all Manufacturing Associate I & II responsibilities and training requirements

  • Able/capable to properly and effectively complete the assembly of surgical components, sub-assemblies, modules, and final systems using standard tools, pneumatic torque tools, and other various tools.

  • Able to complete hand soldering according to GMP as required

  • Read and follow drawings and SOPs to produce consistent, high-quality products.

  • Use of computer to navigate through work instructions, to back flush products, and to complete applicable data entries for documentation and printing of production labels.

  • Able/capable to properly and effectively use multiple types of Inspection, Measuring, and Testing Equipment or devices to assure and document product quality performance requirements.

  • Monitor and verify quality in accordance with documented procedures and applicable statistical techniques.

  • Maintain highest quality and report any findings of quality issues related to components, products, or processes.

  • Maintain accurate and complete production records.

  • Responsible for properly documenting, signing, and dating the Device History Record for the applicable task(s) or tests performed.

  • Responsible for completing, signing, and dating training sheets or computer-generated training records once training has been performed and prior to working on the associated product/process.

  • Learn and perform various tasks as assigned.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly workspace for oneself and co-workers.

  • Provides leadership for the Manufacturing Associates and is responsible to ensure effective implementation of daily 5S activities in assigned areas throughout the day and at the end of shift.

  • Participate in further 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and MDI initiatives and activities throughout the Equipment Manufacturing area and all workstations.

  • Able to properly lift and handle items that weigh up to 50 pounds.

  • Responsible for personal safety and safety of co-workers through the completion of annual safety trainings, reporting of any safety issues or potential safety issues, and provides leadership with participation in stretching break activities.

  • Responsible to ensure training sheets are properly and effectively completed per GDP and submitted into the organization’s enterprise Training System

Requirements

  • Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Equivalent experience may be considered.

  • Required Experience: *Must be able to and/or demonstrate the ability to efficiently and effectively perform all tasks required of an Associate I & II. Minimum of 3 years of experience of directly related medical device production assembly/testing experience. Additional equivalent experience may be considered.

  • Preferred Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience of non-medical device production / assembly experience or equivalent or minimum of 4 years of regulated medical device production experience or equivalent or 4 years of Military training/occupational specialty in maintenance/repair/technical field with an honorable discharge or minimum of 8 years and currently and continuously serving in the National Guard and/or Reserves. Demonstrated ability to follow instructions effectively and accurately; proficient use of simple equipment to perform duties as per documented procedures to achieve acceptable results. Demonstrated ability to execute and follow 5S and Lean Initiatives and Strategy.

  • Required Skills/Qualifications: Able to read and write, add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers; follow instructions; demonstrate effective use of assembly tools and fixtures, fixed gauges, direct reading instruments, and similar devices where interpretation is not required. Able to use testing equipment/multi-meters and other associated testing tools and equipment to assess product performance and applicable test results. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for small parts assembly. Dependable and reliable with strong attendance record.
