Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician with at least 3 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will be capable of reading schematics and blueprints, and have experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, pumps, valves, air compressors, and boilers. Training on ammonia will be provided.
Responsibilities
Assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
Troubleshooting machinery and performing routine preventative maintenance.
Reading, interpreting, and following instructions and operation manuals.
Demonstrating electrical competency for troubleshooting purposes and familiarity with electrical principles and components.
Welding and fabricating parts and equipment.
Using an electrical meter for testing purposes.
Maintaining a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.
Knowledgeable in piping systems, pipe fittings, pumps and motors, valves, etc.
Comprehending gearboxes, motors, bearings, sprockets, chains, bushings, belts, and pulleys.
Cleaning, repairing, and installing equipment and parts as needed.
Operating sit-down forklifts and/or articulating boom lifts.
Operating a variety of hand and power tools.
Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Complying with health and safety regulations.
Performing general maintenance work on buildings as assigned.
Maintaining strong working relationships with all plant departments and writing routine reports and correspondence.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with diaphragm pumps
Industrial maintenance experience
2 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or in a similar role
Preferred work experience in a food manufacturing environment
Welding and/or fabrication experience preferred
HS diploma or GED
Trade certification or vocational school graduate
Strong computer skills
Mechanical aptitude and ability
Physical dexterity to perform tasks
Ability to troubleshoot and recommend solutions
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Knowledge of health and safety regulations
Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. and/or push, pull or move heavy machinery and/or drums
Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift

Work Environment
This job is performed in a climate-controlled food manufacturing plant. Candidates will not be required to be clean-shaven, but will need to wear a hair/beard net.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr.
