Job Title: Embedded Firmware EngineerJob Description

The Electrical Engineer/Embedded Firmware Developer will design circuits to supply power and drive various electromechanical actuators for door locking systems. The role involves developing firmware for products, and providing support for the electronics needs of our manufacturing line. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with a willingness to research new topics, applications, and technology to solve problems and design challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design analog and digital circuits, including low voltage power and microcontrollers.

• Develop, debug, and maintain firmware for Texas Instruments MSP430 microcontrollers.

• Construct prototypes of electronic designs.

• Support legacy products.

• Proficient in schematic capture, PCB layout, and BOM maintenance using DipTrace and Excel.

• Design circuits for driving linear actuators, stepper motors, brushed DC motors, and solenoids.

• Proficient in using an Eclipse-based IDE, preferably TI’s Code Composer Studio.

• Hand solder through-hole and SMT parts, including 0603 sized parts and ICs with fine lead spacing and thermal pads.

• 10 years of experience, which can include 5 years of school and 5 years of professional work.

Work Environment

The role involves working in a smaller team of 4 engineers, with onsite hours from 8:00 AM to 4:45 PM. The manufacturing floor operates from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $60.00/hr.
