House of Love Lead Direct Care Worker in Saginaw, Michigan

Position Summary

House of Love seeks a dedicated Lead Direct Care Worker to support the well-being and development of youth residents. Reporting to the Direct Care Worker Supervisor, this role involves providing guidance, supervision, and maintaining safety protocols within the facility.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Monitor staff and youth to make sure all protocols are being enforced. 
  2. Serve as a role model to youth residents by exemplifying responsible behaviors.
  3. Provide guidance in daily living skills and household chores to promote independence.
  4. Monitor youth activities to ensure safety and adherence to protocols.
  5. Report any non-compliance with home rules promptly to the Direct Care Worker Supervisor.
  6. Maintain open communication with youth to facilitate adjustment to program expectations.
  7. Facilitate or participate in house meetings to review rules and plan activities.
  8. Participate in treatment planning meetings with each youth as needed.
  9. Maintain awareness of youth activities to ensure the safety of all residents and staff.
  10. Report safety hazards and repairs needed to the Direct Care Worker Supervisor.
  11. Maintain client confidentiality and records in compliance with regulations.
  12. Attending weekly staff meetings and in-service training.

Requirements

  1. Minimum of 2 years of experience at a Child Caring Institution (CCI).
  2. Bachelor's degree in social work or related field preferred.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  5. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
