Your day at NTT DATA

The Senior Contract Manager is an experienced professional with relevant legal experience who provides a broad range of legal support and is responsible for contract administration functions necessary to ensure the work of the Legal Department runs smoothly, effectively and contributes to the overall productivity of the team. This position handles information of a highly confidential and critical nature and is focused on contract management functions including tracking deliverables; reviewing, editing, redlining of all types of agreements, organization and management of contracts; creation and management of contract templates; managing calendars, meetings, and schedules; etc. Additionally, the Senior Contract Manager is the primary point of contact for legal contracting needs from all departments including Real Estate and Facilities (including real estate acquisition), Critical Facilities, Engineering, Construction, Sales, and Purchasing Departments.

This position will work closely with various internal functional collaborators and others to come up with ideas and alternatives to resolve client and vendor requests. This individual must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of the company, as well as external vendors, clients, and outside counsel with oversight by the Vice President, Legal. This is a new position for the company and as we grow, this person has the potential to move into a managerial role overseeing additional contract manager roles as they are added to support the business.

What you'll be doing

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with internal and external clients to fulfill sales agreements, vendor service agreements, renewals, and other agreements.

  • As the team grows, mentor and coach team members to enhance their skills, capabilities, and professional growth.

  • Proactively deliver accurate, high-quality guidance and direction to the legal team and other business teams with respect to the best structure of complex non-standard deals, deal strategy, the company’s internal approval and deal processes, and the rationale behind the company’s practices, policies, and contract terms.

  • Guide negotiations with customers and work with sales in explaining NTT’s contracting structure and terms and conditions and the rationale for what NTT is and is not able to accept in a contract negotiation.

  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal collaborators to understand their evolving needs, preferences, and challenges. Act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner, proactively finding opportunities to add new value and drive satisfaction.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for diagnosing and resolving critical issues, ensuring swift and effective resolution.

  • Day to day management of Contract Lifecycle Management software.

  • Review of incoming contracts to determine whether legal review is required under existing policies and procedures.

  • Review of all final contracts for conformity with a checklist of key items to ensure accuracy, and obtain corrections if needed.

  • Compose and prepare legal correspondence, under the supervision of corporate counsel.

  • Gather and prepare information needed for meetings with internal managers or external sources.

  • Assist legal team in updating and revising significant contracts in coordination with other departments.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Able to maintain highly confidential information.

  • Excellent proficiency with computers to include the utilization of programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, SharePoint and DocuSign. Experience with Salesforce a plus.

  • Knowledge of OneTrust, Conga CLM, or similar CLM program preferred.

  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Must be capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously with little supervision.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with all levels and departments.

  • Manages stress in a fast-paced environment effectively.

  • Work is done independently in areas of core competency and is reviewed at critical points.

  • Self-starter, well organized, effectively manages stress in a fast-paced environment and produces consistent, positive results under deadline pressure.

  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a highly collaborative team.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor and preferably Master's degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field.

  • Professional certification in contract management (e.g., NCMA, IACCM).

  • A minimum of ten years progressive contract manager/contract analysis to include approvals, structuring, negotiating and drafting of complex contracts in a legal or executive environment (in addition to education/experience listed above). Preference given for experience in a transactional legal practice or corporate legal department.

  • Paralegal certification preferred but not required.

  • Continued specialization and advanced certification in relative areas required.

  • Prefer experience in the data center industry, including knowledge of data center operations, services, and infrastructure.

  • Experience working in a global, multi-cultural environment.

  • Familiarity with contract management software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

  • Demonstrated experience managing/supervising a team.

  • Proven experience in working with senior leadership, legal, deal management and sales, among others.

  • Superior communication skills, attention to detail with solid ability to effectively delegate is critical for success.

  • Solid ability to effectively delegate.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Primarily sitting with some walking, standing, and bending.

  • Ability to communicate and interact with others.

  • Able to hear and speak into a headset/microphone/telephone.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.

  • Close visual work on a computer terminal.

WORK CONDITIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Standard remote office environment, perform work from a remote location with stable internet connection.

  • Extensive daily usage of workstation or computer and telephone.

  • Perform work during US business hours with flexibility to participate in occasional calls across global time zones.

  • Occasional travel, approximately 5-10% of the time.

  • Must possess a current, valid state-issued driver’s license.

This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable.

NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $94,400 - $ 156,000.

All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
