Job Description

AECOM is seeking a part time Project Manager IV to be based in San Diego or Sacramento, CA .

  • Manages portfolio of clients with multiple projects.

  • Responsible for delivering revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business caused by flawless execution of projects.

  • Consistently delivers profit margins planned.

  • Consistently completes project without write-downs or multiplier erosion.

  • Typically manages projects involving RTF (Risk Triggering Factors).

  • Manages more complex clients and projects.

  • Has decision-making authority and directs other Project Managers in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such.

  • Directs staff to operate and minimize exposure to claims.

  • Supervises and directs Project Managers with multiple projects or program of projects.

  • Assists in preparation of construction Monthly Reports for presentations at team and executive session meetings.

  • Works with the client, client representatives, staff, and management in a collaborative manner.

  • Monitors onsite construction activities and monthly schedule updates, including but not limited to, the verification of materials and equipment on hand, progress of onsite construction work and completion dates, and time impact analyses (TIAs) should there be delays.

  • Works with CDCR and Contractors to find areas of opportunity to improve project and milestone schedule.

  • Responds to stakeholder questions and facilitates stakeholder participation in project.

  • Coordinates with Plant Operations, Custody, and other project stakeholders.

  • Conducts meetings with the Contractor including weekly progress meetings, quality, scheduling and phasing, payment, and other coordination or field activities as they occur.

  • Provides recommendations and documentation regarding: Contract disputes, Schedule Variances, Change Orders (CO) and Proposed Change Orders (PCO), Liquidated damages, Architect potential errors and omissions

  • Evaluates Contractors’ proposed change order (PCOs) proposals for merit, cost and schedule impact and mitigating alternatives. Develops the state’s estimate and assists with negotiations. Prepares all PCO and CO documentation for CDCR approval. Updates and Maintains PCO and CO Logs.

  • Participates in risk analyses identification and mitigation strategies.

  • Develops and maintains project files for issues which have the potential to result in disputes.

  • Reviews and provides input to CDCR and PM on the adequacy of Contractors’ personnel, equipment, materials, and supplies.

  • Receives, tracks, and monitors Contractors’ submittals to and from responding parties. Distributes approved submittals to State Inspector and State Fire Marshal. Tracks review times to ensure timely and comprehensive response. Reports submittal status to PM and CDCR. Updates and maintains Submittal Log.

  • Receives tracks and monitors all Requests For Clarifications (RFCs) to and from responding parities. Distributes RFCs to State Inspector and State Fire Marshal. Tracks review times to ensure timely comprehensive response. Reports RFC status to PM and CDCR. Updates and maintains RFC Log. Ensures the Inspector of Record has reviewed each RFC for Fire Marshal and/or accessibility compliance.

  • Ensures RFCs and RFIs are posted on construction documents and kept current.

  • Verifies and recommends approval of Contractors’ progress payments. Updates and maintains Payment Log.

  • Monitors contractors’ conformance with permits.

  • Assists the State inspectors and monitors Contractors’ conformance with quality requirements.

  • Coordinates with inspectors, Architect and CDCR staff on the development of a list of deficiencies to determine Contractors’ compliance and completion of work. Manages the correction of such deficiencies and maintains Deficiency Log.

  • Assists with input to the monthly report, exception reports, and contingency reports submitted to CDCR in its FRAME management system.

  • Coordinates the schedule for installation and the receipt of the owner furnished equipment with the Contractors’ schedule.

  • Reviews the Contractors’ Daily Reports for accuracy and completeness.

  • Coordinates fire alarm, programing, testing, and inspections with the Sate inspector and the State Fire Marshal.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

BA/BS + 6 Years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency or experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

10 years' experience in fire alarm and fire suppression system projects.

Has worked on design-build projects.

State of California, public works experience.

Correctional/CDCR experience preferred.

CCM and DBIA Professional preferred.

Stated salary is for full time and will be adjusted down according to part-time hours.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $106,800.34 - $197,580.63.
