Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Electro-Mechanic is responsible for providing electrical and mechanical services to the production department. This role includes participating in the Preventive Maintenance program to ensure equipment is ready for operation and continuously improving the equipment and processes. The Maintenance Electro-Mechanic will exemplify the company's core values in Health & Safety, People, Quality/Food Safety, and Growth.

Responsibilities

  • Install, examine, replace, and repair mechanical and electrical components for equipment and plant systems/fixtures.

  • Ensure defects are found and eliminated, and asset health is improved.

  • Read manuals, blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly.

  • Work with the Maintenance Department to create/improve Preventive Maintenance plans and schedules.

  • Record data in the CMMS system actively.

  • Ensure daily adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.

  • Evaluate hazards, verify, and describe measures and procedures to achieve a safe work environment and comply with Environmental and Health and Safety standards and regulations.

  • Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment in the Food Industry.

  • Take direction from the Maintenance Department Group Leader/Leader regarding daily tasks.

  • Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Single or dual licensed Industrial Millwright (433A) and Industrial Electrician (442A)

  • A minimum of 3 years industrial millwright experience, preferably in the food or beverage industry with automation

  • Familiarity with electrical and mechanical industrial installations, troubleshooting, and repairs

  • Capable of reading electrical drawings, manuals, and parts drawings

  • Formal education in PLC logic or automation and troubleshooting

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, able to use a computer CMMS system

  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Must be available for overtime

Work Environment

Available to work a flexible shift schedule, including weekends, to support the operational needs of a cyclical manufacturing operation during both peak and low seasons. Able to work in a refrigerated cold and/or hot environment and perform sometimes physically strenuous activities. Will be required to work with food allergens and sanitization chemicals. The first shift starts at 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Tuesday through Friday, with a 4:00 AM start on Mondays for production startup. The second shift runs from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, and the third shift operates from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, Monday through Friday, ending at 8:30 AM on Saturday mornings. The schedule can change week to week by an hour or so and is posted on Thursdays for the following week.
