As an Account Executive for Key Accounts, you'll look for new, fully and self-insured sales business in the 100-5000 employee range. You will grow and develop sales numbers, setting expectations for deliverables to greatly improve the lives of others.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Sales representative for the UHC Key Accounts responsible for broker and direct sales to customers in the 100-5000 employee range. The principle focus is the sale of new fully insured and self funded business with indirect responsibility for the retention of existing accounts

  • New Business Sales:

  • Identifies potential healthcare business customers

  • Accountable for prospect from presale to implementation

  • Attains targeted sales goals for region and health plan

  • Produces sales resulting in profitable premium levels

  • Leads cross-functional team to achieve positive sales results

  • Identifies opportunities for ancillary/Enterprise products on all new sales

  • Travel as required

  • Relationship Building:

  • Develops and maintains solid broker relationships

  • Develops and maintains key internal relationships

  • Understand customer and broker needs and provide value-added consultation

  • Identifies key brokers/consultants for management development

  • Presents a positive image of UHG in the marketplace

  • Community involvement through professional organizations, associations and local organization

  • Miscellaneous:

  • Maintain current knowledge of all UHC products, services, and underwriting practices and principles

  • Effectively communicate UHG/UHC strategies and mission to the marketplace

Required Qualifications:

  • Current active sales insurance license (Life and Health)

  • 5+ years of successful sales experience, with a full range of health care products

  • Proven ability to produces sales to employers through direct sales or brokers

  • Proven ability to maintain a valid driver's license

  • Willing or able to travel as required

  • Access to reliable transportation (own a vehicle)

  • Currently reside or willing to relocate within 30 miles of San Francisco, CA, San Jose, CA or Sacramento, CA

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience selling UHG healthcare products including self-funded and fully-insured

  • Experience working in an underwriting role

  • ASO experience

California Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $155,000 annually. Role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
