Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer IV to be based in Sacramento, California.

JOB SUMMARY:

This individual shall coordinate Engineering Services with other delivery branches and other functional branches to ensure engineering designs and construction align with the client’s established engineering requirements. This includes coordinating the application of engineering policy and design management processes to ensure engineering matters are progressed to meet the client’s requirements

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Liaising with other delivery branches, consultants, and sub-consultants to coordinate an integrated approach for risk identification and management of challenges to engineering requirements.

  • Supporting the management to establish the technical governance framework for management of engineering client across the program through coordination with other branches and third parties including existing rail operators.

  • Coordinating with other delivery branches for Engineering Branch’s timely review on design submittals.

  • Coordinating with engineering discipline leads to conduct over-the-shoulder review, design review, and interdisciplinary review in a timely manner and verify that designs are compliant with client’s engineering requirements.

  • Coordinating an integrated approach to engineering activities to provide cross functional support to planning, development, procurement, design, and construction of the client’s capital projects. These activities include preliminary engineering for environmental approval, preliminary engineering for procurement, alternative technical concepts, detail design, and railroad and utility interfaces.

  • Coordinating cross functional engineering reviews of maintenance, operations, and integration of civil and structural engineering elements in advance of procurement.

  • Assisting with development, recommendation, and implementation of policies, as applicable, in relation to engineering management, engineering standards and technical requirements, infrastructure development, design, and construction support including change management.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree of Science Engineering.

  • 8+ years of engineering management experience in complex major projects, in particular transit and railway.

  • Good engineering management skills in all civil works including railway alignment, earthworks, roads, bridges, drainages, seismic design, and track structures related to railway projects.

  • Experience in technical coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

  • California registered Professional Engineer

  • Ability to analyze and inspire innovative solutions to complex challenges

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $110,004.00 - $203,508.00.
