Job Summary
The position will sell new and used agriculture equipment. Additionally it would support the selling of lawn and garden, and consumer products on an as needed basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Ensures the professional image and philosophy of Van Wall Equipment as our Customer’s Clear First Choice
-Represents the company for the sale of machinery to customers in a defined sales area
-Maintains all customer information in assigned territory for sales management while building a friendly rapport to develop goodwill and ensure the philosophy of Van Wall Equipment
-Call on all assigned customers, follow up on equipment sold to customers, ensuring satisfaction
-Maintains current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used goods
-Knows and follows a defined sales process. Completing all paperwork required during the sales process from making quotes, purchase orders, sales contracts, appraisals and any other paperwork that may be required by management
-Assists with the preparation and execution of customer events in order to promote all seasonal or other specials being offered
-Conducts new equipment field demonstrations when necessary and helps to maintain the new and used equipment lots
-Coordinates pre-delivery inspections and cleaning with the Service Department
-Attends applicable sales training events including meetings, schools, and seminars
-May maintain current knowledge of used equipment values and ability to evaluate properly for trading purposes
-Maintains current working product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment potentially for sale by the dealership in order to help instruct customers when necessary
-Monitor competitive activity, trends and products, communicating with management to remain up to date on all competition as well as current customers
Position Qualifications
-2+ years of equipment sales experience
-Knowledge of agricultural, farming, or operational practices
-Bachelors degree within an agricultural or business discipline strongly preferred
-Ability to work flexible hours
-Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office
-Ability to analyze and interpret basic sales reports
-High School Diploma or equivalent required.
-Willing to work out in the field, in a variety of weather and ground conditions
-Climb in and out of large agricultural equipment
-Computer work for extended amounts of time when necessary
-Must have a valid driver’s license and insurability in accordance to company fleet insurance policy
