This Project Controls Specialist position is a long-term contract position working for HGA at a client located in The Woodlands, TX.

PROJECT CONTROLS SPECIALIST POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Controls Specialist performs simple routine tasks in preparing manpower plans, project schedules, and forecasting projects. The Project Controls Specialist performs assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in tracking the progress on projects with minimal supervision. The Project Controls Specialist assists in analyzing the project financial data and forecasted data to determine the outcome of a project in relation to the budget. Assists in reviewing project history and setting benchmarks.

PROJECT CONTROLS SPECIALIST ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides Project Controls/Project Management assistance.

Project Controls Specialist assists in setting up budgets, work orders, task orders, meeting agendas and minutes.

Assists in forecasting and tracking total project budgets.

Assists in reporting and general project support.

Project Controls Specialist maintains status updating on all projects.

Perform quality control checks per QA/QC plan.

Assist in maintaining project schedules.

PROJECT CONTROLS SPECIALIST REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors degree in a business or technical discipline desired, i.e., Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or Management. (MBA is preferred.)

Candidates should possess 3+ years of project controls experience.

Primavera P6 scheduling software experience is desired.

Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Proficient in use of MS Windows, MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word.

Understands basic revenue models, P/L, and cost-to-completion projections.

Ability to react promptly and efficiently to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Ability to work under pressure.

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and presentation skills.

Capability to conduct research into project-related issues and products.

Capability and willingness to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
