*What you will do:  *

  • Perform initial management of change evaluations and work with project managers to ensure tasks are prioritized and completed on time.

  • Develop Job Safety Analysis and Physical Hazardous Analysis

  • Develop/analysis critical inventories of RRI, lifting procedures, and department risk assessments

  • Ergonomic assessments and identification of workstation improvements

  • Drive EHS excellence as a core value and promote an enthusiastic safety culture at all levels.

  • Oversee EHS improvements projects with department leaders and Manufacturing Engineers.

  • Oversee and participate in EHS preventative maintenance and inspection audits in accordance with regulatory and Trane Technologies requirements.

  • Execute daily plant walks using existing and new skills, knowledge, and abilities to provide basic EHS compliance guidance and identify opportunities

  • Conduct routine environment and safety inspections and maintain oversight of hazardous and universal, hazardous, and non-hazardous waste staging areas and take corrective actions when necessary to maintain regulatory compliance and best practices.

  • Develop and deliver EHS training to small groups for compliance, employee development and awareness.

  • Assist with project management and oversee contractors/staffing for site projects.

  • Lead and participate on site safety team and committees.

  • Develop and implement safety programs and policies to minimize the potential for accidents, injuries, and environmental damage.

  • Provide guidance and training to employees on safety procedures, including the use of PPE and other safety measures.

  • Maintain and update safety manuals, records, reports, and documentation to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.

  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Working knowledge of laws , regulations, and industry best practices related to occupation safety, environmental protection, and workplace health.

  • Maintain OSHA and Workers' compensation compliance and serves as subject matter expert.

  • Monitor the inspections, use and condition of company tools, equipment and vehicles, taking appropriate action to ensure proper operation, maintenance, and repair.

  • Plan and implement EHS training programs for supervisors and employees in work site safety practices correct handling techniques for chemicals, equipment, and other materials, in compliance with OSHA and environmental requirements.

  • Analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

  • Create action plans that address safety concerns and eliminate the issues.

  • Develop and execute emergency evacuation plans

  • Administer annual safety programs such as hearing conservation, air monitoring, and forklift training.

  • Transport team members to appropriate medical facility following incidents and manage the case from start to finish

What you will bring:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalent Diploma (GED) is required.

  • Associate degree in Engineering, Life Safety, Environmental Studies, Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred.

  • Additional degrees and/or related coursework or experience will be considered.

  • Must be willing to pursue technician level certification, certificate or degree program in related field.

  • Prefer 1-2 years of previous experience within Environmental, Health, and Safety in a manufacturing setting.

  • Must complete specialized training such as: First Aid/CPR/AED; RCRA / DOT; OSHA 30-hr.; Fall Protection; within the first 12 months of hire.

  • Ability to adjust priorities accordingly, without being prompted, based on risk and business needs.

  • Strong capability with computer applications including Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal company and external associates, both written and orally, including the telephone. Mobility within the work facility.

  • Ability to maintain EHS spaces. Utilize material handling equipment to assist site personnel with the set-up and organizing of areas that store chemicals, waste and water.

Compensation: *  *

Base Pay Range: $ 50,000 - $65,000

Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
