Cisco DevSecOps Engineer--Security Visibility & Validation--S&TO in RTP, North Carolina

The Security Visibility & Validation (SVV) Team is part of security engineering within the Security & Trust Organization (S&TO). We work to strengthen Cisco’s approach to security by conceiving and developing software tools and solutions for meaningful risk reductions in our products and to protect the Cisco brand. In this role, you’ll contribute to a cross-functional team which designs, recommends, and delivers outstanding development security operations (DevSecOps) for SVV. We engage with valued clients of business units and other entities across the organization to gain perspective and to understand their experience using application security testing tools throughout the secure development lifecycle.

Who You Are:

As a DevSecOps Engineer, you’ll evaluate software development pipeline technologies, infrastructures, software configuration management (SCM), security, and other technologies that change and improve how SVV secure their software. You’ll build and interact with security tools and results across the application stack and broadly across security domains. We’re looking for engineers who have a passion and dedication for developing, maintaining, and implementing software for new security requirements, pipeline efficiency, framework compliance, efficacy, artificial intelligence and future proofing solutions in a cloud-native serverless and on-premises platforms.

You will anticipate our organization and client needs and be empowered to take initiative and be proactive in your approach. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership skills and be enthusiastic to seek new solutions to problems across the full stack as we continue to push our mission of strengthening Cisco’s approach to security forward.

Minimum Requirements for this Role:

  • 7+ years of professional experience in a technical/software related capacity

  • Experience with software configuration Management (SCM) systems and processes

  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methods, processes and procedures

  • Experience developing and deploying serverless applications with containerized computing platforms such as Docker, AWS ECS, Kubernetes or Helm and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Terraform or CloudFormation

  • Experience with pipeline automation tools like Jenkins, Maven, and Artifactory

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • An understanding of agile/scrum methodologies

  • Knowledge of or ability to learn Cisco Secure Development LifeCycle (CSDL)

  • Awareness of the Cloud Control Framework (CCF)

  • Familiarity with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and or Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)
