You will join the Office of the CLO (OCLO) directly reporting to the VP and Chief of Staff. This small, but mighty, team is tasked with managing the day-to-day business operations and strategic initiatives of Cisco’s Chief Legal Officer and Cisco Legal’s senior leadership team. You will partner with colleagues in Legal and numerous other functions across the company to have an immediate impact with your analytic rigor, business judgment, and ability to get things done.

Your Impact

As a Business Operations Manager, you will partner closely with the Chief of Staff and others in the OCLO. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day business operations of Cisco Legal and lead key initiatives for the department. This role ensures strategic priorities are properly implemented, organizes, maintains and prepares documentation for the organization, and prepares meeting agendas for the Legal SLT in partnership with the Chief of Staff. Additionally, you will coordinate and implement special projects, providing comprehensive support and managing cross-functional stakeholders to drive business impact.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the Office of the CLO.

  • Partner with the Chief of Staff to operationalize and complete Cisco Legal’s strategic plan with a keen focus on progress tracking for key actions and deliverables.

  • Lead special projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic and organizational objectives, and prepare and present project updates and reports to senior leadership.

  • Collaborate with various functions, across Cisco, to gather necessary information and resources for project execution.

  • Partner with members of the Legal Communications and Programming Team to complete Cisco Legal-wide programs.

  • Represent Cisco’s Legal Programs both internally with employees and externally with partner organizations.

To perform these tasks effectively, you will be expected to:

  • Demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making with a great degree of independence in unstructured environments.

  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.

  • Exhibit strong project management skills, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines.

  • Be a self-starter with a "roll up your sleeves" mentality, and act with a sense of urgency.

  • Demonstrate technical depth, attention to detail, and strong written and presentation skills.

  • Ensure clear and consistent communications at all levels.

  • Adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At a minimum, a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 7+ years of program management and strategy planning experience, preferably within a legal or compliance setting.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills to help shape the direction of work and identify data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Deep understanding of project management tools and solutions to effectively extrapolate, up-level, and organize information for executive presentations.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage sophisticated projects and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
