We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Cost Accountant in the Aerospace industry. The role is based in Weber County, and will focus on managing various accounting functions, including financial reporting, cost accounting, data analysis, and compliance with accounting guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Manage financial and cost accounting processes in the aerospace industry.

• Reconcile raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory.

• Analyze operational costs and set standard costs for manufactured goods.

• Perform inventory account reconciliations.

• Support audit process by providing relevant cost information.

• Prepare and analyze inventory and manufacturing cost variances.

• Utilize skills in Manufacturing Cost Accounting, Standard Costing, Syteline ERP, Microsoft Excel, Bill of Materials (BOM), Manufacturing Variance, Inventory Reconciliation, Cost Analysis, and Month End Close. Robert Half Management Resources is seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant for a 4+ month contract role at our manufacturing client in the Ogden area. The individual will manage various accounting functions including production variance analysis, cost accounting, and ensuring compliance with accounting guidelines while working directly with the project management group and inventory control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Month-end close responsibilities for in a manufacturing environment

• Work with the Project Management group to ensure cost estimates are loaded for month end, handle any changes in orders that affect costing, and calculate project percentage of completion.

• Collaborate with Inventory Control at the manufacturing plant to ensure accurate inventory via cycle count management and analysis of excess and obsolete inventory.

• Prepare and provide analytics for inventory reserves for Raw, Finished, and WIP.

• Reconcile and provide analysis of raw materials, work in progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory.

• Prepare inventory adjustments in collaboration with the Inventory Control team.

• Analyze company’s operational costs and set standard costs for manufactured goods.

• Prepare and analyze inventory and manufacturing cost variances for direct and indirect costs

• Allocate labor hours to projects using weekly labor reports provided by the operations team

• Accrue for unbilled revenue at month end according to ASC 606.

Requirements

Requirements::

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related business field.

• Experience in manufacturing cost accounting.

• Strong Excel skills, along with Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficient with various accounting software tools.

• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
