Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Job Description

Do you have experience with shipping/receiving and keeping inventory? Looking for a Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm schedule? A stable and growing company has an immediate opening for a Shipping & Receiving Clerk!

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming packages and pallets for in-transit damage.

• Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shippers to rectify damages and shortages.

• Open containers or pallets, inspect the material, verify the quantity matches the Packing Slip and Purchase Order, and label the box with part number and quantity.

• Enter all incoming information into the Raw Materials Receiving Log.

• Help put material away via hand-truck, forklift, or by hand.

• Understand the importance of receiving and counting accuracy.

• Work well with others while being a self-starter who can manage time well.

• Maintain good written skills and legible handwriting.

• A background in a QC function is needed, and shipping experience is a plus.

• Other duties may be assigned.

Essential Skills

• Experience receiving and inspecting incoming packages/products

• ERP system experience (or similar) for logging incoming information

• Forklift experience

• Ability to handle most work in the department (being 1 of 2 people)

• Ability to lift 50 pounds multiple times per day

• Ability to stand on feet for 8+ hours per day

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience handling HVAC/plumbing-based or electro-mechanical equipment

Work Environment

The company has a close-knit team of 35-40 employees who work in an air-conditioned environment, though it can get warm in some areas due to the nature of the products. The team is hard-working with a sense of urgency to accomplish goals. The position offers a first shift Monday through Thursday schedule (7am-5pm). During summer months, overtime is limited, but there are ample opportunities for overtime in winter months. Must be comfortable standing and lifting 50 pounds throughout the day.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Round Rock, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
