Aerotek Mechanical Assembly Technician in Round Rock, Texas
Job Title: Mechanical Assembly Technician Weekly Pay $21+
Job Description
Join a team building the leading innovative product that is the future of electric motors for data centers! The Assembly Technician will work closely with a team of 5-10 manufacturing/test technicians to perform the testing, inspection, and packaging of these cutting-edge motors (roughly 15-20 per day). This role may include assembly of test stands as well.
Responsibilities
Place motor onto test stand for testing process
Monitor test, remove from stand once complete
Connect motor to small crane to deliver to next stage of process
Visual inspection of components to ensure all still satisfactory
Use screw driver to assemble VFD cover back onto motor
Use banding tool to band together for packing
Package motor for shipment
Dis-assemble motor using hand and power tools, including unbanding & unwrapping, removing lid, unhooking all components, removing inverter & rectifier (future duty)
Remove PCB boards, deliver to soldering department (future duty)
Use drills, heat gun, screw driver, and various other tools to secure shaft, metal ring, guide pins (future duty)
Swap out impeller and remove mounting bolts (future duty)
Re-install PCB boards, confirm torque is correct to specifications (future duty)
Visual inspection of wires and components (future duty)
Re-apply sealant and lid (future duty)
Use pallet jack to move crate with motor; use small crane to move motor to final area for testing (future duty)

Additional Skills & Qualifications
1-2+ years of recent work experience using hand and power tools to assemble a large product/device
Ability to work without fully defined work instructions
Experience in a start-up or R&D environment
Soldering experience
Troubleshooting or testing experience
Experience with electric motors

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Round Rock, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00
