Salvation Army Truck Driver/Warehouse in Roseville, Minnesota
Qualifications High School Diploma/GED, with a minimum of 2-years commercial driving experience. Must have a current or be able to pass the Department of Transportation physical-DOT, have MN Class B license, have a good driving record and meet The Salvation Army's MVR driver qualifications. Must have a valid MN BP2S endorsed commercial driver's license or be able to obtain within the first 90 days of employment. Must be OSHA certified or eligible to drive a forklift, needs to go through The Salvation Army's forklift training, able to deal courteously with donors and other employees, make decisions regarding potential donations based on given general guidelines and handle donations in proper and appropriate manner to avoid damage and breakage. Must be able to work some Saturdays and early morning hours, pass the background checks and willing to support The Salvation Army mission. Food Service Certification courses within 90 days of hire. Position Summary Responsible for daily pickup and deliveries according to the route assigned. Be able to work safely and efficiently; work well with supervisor, co-workers, agencies and other drivers or volunteers. Provide any extra route support as needed. Oversee daily warehouse operations and activities. This is a full time regular position with a workweek expectation of 40 hours per week. 7:30am-3:30pm, 40 hours/week. $18.00/hour 2445 Prior Ave N, Roseville, MN 55113 Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters and maintains positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors. Drive routes as needed, pick up donations at assigned destinations that are either on going or one time assignments. Priority given to St Paul Public Schools, ARC, Hope for the City, EFN, and Second Harvest. As time permits other pick-ups would be LUNDS Inc, Wal-Mart, Aldi's, Sam's Club, Suburban Santa, Seasonal Concepts, Cub Foods, World Vision, Toys for Tots, Toy shops, Rainbow foods, and Various other Grocery Stores. Load donations in a safe, secure manner to minimize damage and breakage to donations and property Issue donor receipts for donated items Deliver donations to Corps Community Centers, and/or DHQ. Unload truck taking donations to designated areas and/or Corps. Deliver food, clothing, coats, and toys to a scheduled location. Taking care to assure safe handling and avoiding damage to merchandise and property Deliver and pickup merchandise and supplies to the Toyshops or Corps as assigned Pick up other procurement assignments as assigned Drive Forklift at designated toyshops Drive truck for other Salvation Army program needs as assigned Perform routine truck maintenance to ensure trucks run safely and efficiently. Report all maintenance and performance concerns to supervisor. Maintain the exterior and interior of truck in a clean orderly condition. Re-evaluate routing continuously to maintain optimal efficiency. Oversee daily warehouse operations and activities. Keep warehouse clean and orderly. Organize all daily warehouse donations that arrive at DHQ. Complete Gift in Kind forms for all donations received at DHQ that are specified for TCSS. Complete inventory for items that are loaned to TCSS and needed to be returned. Complete inventory for warehouse supplies and order new supplies as needed. This includes supplies that volunteers use for designated warehouse projects. Organize, sort, and count Toy Shop, Coats 4 Kids, and Back to School supplies. Organize distribution of seasonal do ation to Corps Community Centers and Emergency Assistance offices. This includes Toy Shop, Coats 4 Kids, and Back to School supplies. Organize TCSS office supply area in warehouse and order new office supplies as they run low. Assist in coordinating volunteer groups in warehouse. Attend special needs staffing: as relates to transportation. Attend staff meetings. Respond to emergencies as needed. Provide customer service and resolve scheduling problems and issues. Drivers must wear approved DHQ apparel while on duty. When not on a driving route or assignment, assist with loading and transporting supplies as needed to other Salvation Army Corps Community Centers, including disaster scenes throughout the division; sorting food in the DHQ warehouse; preparing supplies for toyshop; and unloading of donations at DHQ that belong to EDS or Seasonal Services. Assist with cleaning as needed or assigned. Other duties as assigned.
