Robert Half Payroll Administrator in Roseville, California

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Administrator in Roseville, California. The selected candidate will be joining our team in the construction industry. The role involves a multitude of tasks, including the collection and processing of timecard data, payroll processing, labor compliance documentation, and benefits administration for field employees.

Responsibilities:

• Collect and transfer hours from foremen's timecards to hours report

• Collaborate with superintendents or foremen to address any discrepancies in timecards

• Transfer hours from the timecard tracking system or paper timecards to the payroll platform

• Ensure the efficient and accurate processing of payrolls within the payroll platform

• Run necessary reports to close and post payroll in accounting systems

• Prepare and submit labor compliance documents for public works projects

• Onboard new field employees and maintain their records, including drug test results

• Handle benefits enrollments (insurance, 401(k), etc.) for field employees

• Respond to requests from government agencies (such as EDD and Franchise Tax Board)

• Assist other departments (field employees, superintendents, project managers/engineers) with their requests (e.g., missed hours, lost checks, personal account inquiries in Paylocity)

• Maintain data correspondence across different systems (Spectrum, Paylocity, HCSS) Requirements • Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now

• Experience with Ceridian and Kronos Timekeeping System

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Understanding of 401k - RRSP Administration

• Familiarity with About Time software

• Strong accounting functions skills

• Knowledge of benefit functions

• Experience in check processing

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

• High level of accuracy and efficiency

• Problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
