Become a Trailer Program Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this role, you will lead all aspects of Corporate Real Estate (CRE) management of SCE’s Mobile Office Trailer and Storage unit portfolio, comprising approximately 325 units and 196 lease agreements spread across SCE’s expansive 50,000 square mile service territory. These assets are essential for supporting SCE’s field operations and construction projects.

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of CRE’s Strategic Planning and Space Team, you will play a key role in developing short and long-term strategies for SCE’s corporate non-electric producing facilities, including offices, service centers, and storage facilities. Your responsibilities will include improving portfolio performance through strategic business planning, leveraging new technologies, negotiating contracts, implementing inventory and cost controls, improving portfolio visibility, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Direct oversight of CREs Portfolio Service Provider Team consisting of 2 to 3 analysts and project managers to assure the Portfolio is managed to CRE leadership expectations.

  • Establish or approve project tasks and objectives, timelines, risk analysis, milestones and budgets for Service Provider in the inspection, installation, construction, maintenance and decommissioning of Portfolio units.

  • Develop and implement long and short-term strategies to reduce operating costs and eliminate excess units.

  • Conduct regular portfolio performance reporting to CRE leadership and OUs including construction status, inventories, utilization, physical condition, and financial status.

  • Create and maintain Process and Procedure documents for managing the Portfolio.

The essentials

  • Ten or more years of relevant combined experience in real estate portfolio administration, compliance and management of portfolio including occupancy planning & management, furniture space & design and developing short- and long-range facility strategies and/or program management.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or certification in commercial real estate or strategic planning, project management specialty or related field.

  • Two years of experience in an internal CRE environment managing leases, mobile trailers and storage unit program.

  • Two years of process improvement experience.

  • Two years of property/facility and construction management background.

  • Effective team building skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to form and maintain effective project teams consisting of members of various organizational units, departments and/or organizations.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
