Job Overview

As a Calibration Technician, you will manage and control the HSC Calibration Process/System. Maintains calibration and inventory status of all measurement and test equipment (M&TE). Receives, issues, stores, and maintains inspection tools and gages, including performing calibration and maintaining the related records. Perform tests, inspections, and First Article Inspections (FAI) on products and processes as required. Assist quality engineer (s) or quality assurance supervisor on activities or assignments for maintaining our Business Management System to ensure that all products manufactured by the organization meet customer specifications and the contract requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives and disburses measurement and test equipment such as thread gages, micrometers, calipers, height gages, and others.

  • Examines M&TE to determine condition and performs/requests necessary calibration, replacement, or repair.

  • Initiates and maintains M&TE calibration history records, serialization system, and inventory records.

  • Disburses various inspection equipment, tools, or replacement parts for equipment (light bulbs, apiezon test grease, etc.)

  • Maintain work areas and workstations in a clean and orderly fashion. Perform work safely and productively in compliance with company policies and regulations.

  • Conducts tests, inspections, audits, verification, and validations to accept products, processes, and documentation by confirming adherence to specifications in multiple areas, such as inspections, Quality laboratory tests, FAI, etc.

  • Initiates and/or completes necessary quality records, reports, logs, test data, and other associated paperwork required to accomplish acceptance, rejection, and movement of material.

  • Provide feedback to Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Procurement regarding the impact of product and process design on producibility and inspection ability.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Quality Engineering.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  • High school graduate preferred but not required.

  • Basic math skills and ability to read and write English preferred.

  • Good vision (natural or corrected), excellent hand dexterity in both hands.

  • Basic knowledge of blueprint reading.

  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in inspection/quality are required

  • 3+ years of work experience in Calibration is preferred.

  • Must be able to use basic inspection tools such as micrometer, caliper, thread gauge, and dial indicator.

  • Basic skills in computer (Especially Microsoft Office Applications) are required.

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally.

  • Repeated standing, walking, and bending are required.

  • Ability to perform in a production environment with unusual conditions such as high-volume noise level and dust.

  • Available to work overtime if necessary, including weekends.

  • Attend training sessions as required to meet standards of job-related activities relating to all HSC applications.

  • Participate in cross-training efforts interfacing with other departments to acquire additional skills and knowledge for advancement.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Supports/trains workers engaged in measuring and testing products and tabulating data concerning materials, products, or processes' quality and reliability.

  • Ability to coordinate, perform, and/or support the First Article Inspections as needed.

  • Ensure that we maintain a team atmosphere and work collaboratively with additional departments to support quality-related efforts.

  • Continuously improves the inspection function to ensure efficient support of quantity of work, and improvement in the work of Quality.

  • Perform other duties as required by the supervisor or management.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in First Article Inspection per AS9102.

  • Willingness to work overtime and on weekends as required.

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

  • Participate in cross-training efforts interfacing with other departments to acquire additional skills and knowledge for advancement.

Pay Details: $20.00 to $27.00 per hour
