Shipping Supervisor - Romeoville IL

About the role:

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Shipping Supervisor to join our team in Romeoville IL. The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for oversight of all product shipping to customers and internal transfers, ensuring that on-time delivery is met for regular and will-call orders. Also responsible for supervising and training Warehouse Associates in the shipping group, maintaining shipping accuracy by processing material reports and transfers, and helping others locate materials.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manages freight shipments, processing in timely and accurate manner

• Oversees logistics processes and procedures

• Monitors age and status of open freight shipments and follows up on issues as needed

• Files and processes paperwork in accordance with the established procedures

• Monitors scheduling of trucks through systems such as SAP and TMS

• Verifies and maintains accurate records on outgoing shipments

• Work closely with other departments to ensure timely shipments of all products and accurate tracking in operation system

• Assists with preparation of shipments including taking pictures, reviewing Bills of Lading/s (BOL) and other required documentation

• Assists freight carriers in tracking and shipment information

• Completes root cause analysis of shipping discrepancies, makes timely corrections and identifies improvements

• Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Education:

High School or GED preferred

Knowledge / training:

• Strong communication skills

• Excellent organization and administrative skills

• Customer service skills

• Analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong computer skills

• Ability to operate warehouse machinery such as forklifts

• Detail oriented and the ability to multitask

• Knowledge of warehouse operation systems such as SAP or similar

• Knowledge of LTL and dedicated services

Experience:

• 3+ years warehouse shipping and supervisory experience in a warehouse environment required
