About the role:
WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Shipping Supervisor to join our team in Romeoville IL. The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for oversight of all product shipping to customers and internal transfers, ensuring that on-time delivery is met for regular and will-call orders. Also responsible for supervising and training Warehouse Associates in the shipping group, maintaining shipping accuracy by processing material reports and transfers, and helping others locate materials.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manages freight shipments, processing in timely and accurate manner
Oversees logistics processes and procedures
Monitors age and status of open freight shipments and follows up on issues as needed
Files and processes paperwork in accordance with the established procedures
Monitors scheduling of trucks through systems such as SAP and TMS
Verifies and maintains accurate records on outgoing shipments
Work closely with other departments to ensure timely shipments of all products and accurate tracking in operation system
Assists with preparation of shipments including taking pictures, reviewing Bills of Lading/s (BOL) and other required documentation
Assists freight carriers in tracking and shipment information
Completes root cause analysis of shipping discrepancies, makes timely corrections and identifies improvements
Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Education:
High School or GED preferred
Knowledge / training:
Strong communication skills
Excellent organization and administrative skills
Customer service skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong computer skills
Ability to operate warehouse machinery such as forklifts
Detail oriented and the ability to multitask
Knowledge of warehouse operation systems such as SAP or similar
Knowledge of LTL and dedicated services
Experience:
- 3+ years warehouse shipping and supervisory experience in a warehouse environment required
