**Financial Aid Specialist** **Full Time** **Whitfield/Murray Campus**

**[Job Summary: [Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Financial Aid Specialist at the Whitfield/Murray Campus. This position is responsible for performing professional and administrative duties associated with the delivery of student financial aid services to current and prospective students. Occasional travel to other GNTC campuses may be required as well as occasional evening hours.

[Duties/Responsibilities: ]{arial=""}]{arial=""}]{arial=""}**

  • Answer students' questions concerning financial aid procedures in a courteous manner;
  • Assist students in filling out forms and application at all GNTC locations;
  • Data Assist entry of students' financial aid information in financial aid software and Department of Education software;
  • Prepare letters and follow-up requests to students for necessary information needed to complete their files;
  • Verify students' files according to federal regulations for awarding of financial aid;
  • Assist Director/Assistant Directors in developing financial aid forms;
  • Assist in directing Federal Work Study Program; ensure accuracy of time sheets;
  • Monitor students' academic progress and verify hours of enrollment each term;
  • Counsel and advise VA students and parents concerning financial aid opportunities and application process;
  • Assist in the reconciliation of all federal, state, and institutional reporting;
  • Assist in completing and updating the Financial Aid Policies and Procedures Manual;
  • Attend staff development training workshops when necessary;
  • Advise students who plan to withdraw of the consequences regarding financial aid;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
