Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Beta Engineering Intern. This position will be in Rolla, MO.

Summary:Conducts laboratory analyses, experiments, and utilizes processes to support Product Development projects for the Beta Chemistry Team. Wet lab or industrial experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts bench-scale lab experiments that produce process data on chemical synthesis reactions under supervision. Activities include, but not limited to, raw material procurement, sample preparation, and analytical testing submissions.
• Knowledge and understanding of safety and housekeeping standards and practiced in daily activities. Learn and apply 5S standards.
• Learns and keeps familiar with current and new lab procedures.
• Keeps a well-documented electronic lab notebook and have it co-signed within two weeks.
• Responsible for communicating with supervisor and team members on project progress.
• Records and communicates any unexpected differences in test results.
• Provides in-depth data analysis and summary of work using statistics and design of experiments (DOE), when applicable.
• Explore and interface with other functional areas to gain understanding of Company culture and operations.

Education:

• Student enrolled as a Junior, senior, or masters standing.
• Completion of at least 2nd year level of college chemistry and physics; candidate for bachelors degree in chemistry,material science, polymer science or other related area.
• Courses in polymer chemistry a plus.
