Cummins Inc. Tool Change Technician - 2nd Shift in Rocky Mount, North Carolina

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Tool Change Technician to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Rocky Mount, NC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Support Manufacturing Needs : Perform skilled activities that directly support the manufacturing business, using appropriate tools and equipment with minimal guidance.

  • Ensure Safety Compliance : Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards by reporting hazards, using personal protective equipment, and engaging in HSE training.

  • Maintain High Quality Standards : Apply high standards of workmanship, support equipment uptime, and perform quality inspections to ensure product excellence.

  • Optimize Equipment Performance : Conduct preventive, emergency, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability and efficiency.

  • Promote a Safe Work Environment : Recognize and correct hazards, promote interdependence among colleagues, and minimize environmental impact through safe practices.

  • Enhance Process Efficiency : Work with peers to identify and reduce manufacturing constraints, solve problems, and participate in continuous improvement activities.

  • Communicate Effectively : Maintain clear communication with your team and support staff, ensuring smooth operations and collaboration.

  • Contribute to Team Development : Participate in training and personal development, and actively engage with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams to improve quality, safety, and processes.

  • Health and Safety Fundamentals : Champion proactive health and safety behaviors, contributing to an injury-free workplace by identifying and addressing potential hazards.

  • Controls Safety : Recognize and mitigate hazards related to electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls, ensuring safe practices are integrated into daily work plans.

  • Manufacturing Knowledge : Apply your understanding of manufacturing processes to implement changes that meet functional needs and drive continuous improvement.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

  • Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information

  • This position requires a valid North Carolina driver’s license.

  • The successful candidate will be trained to use precision tool setting equipment to set up cutting tool assemblies for the machining lines.

  • Capability of fine increment measurement using the Imperial and Metric systems is a plus.

  • Any prior experience with tool setting is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal skills required for direct interface with customers is necessary.
