Job Title: Quality Control Microbiologist

Job Description

The Quality Control Microbiologist will be responsible for working with the QC Microbiology Final Product Testing group to support testing efforts on new critical projects at the site. This individual will perform a variety of laboratory testing to support validation efforts to bring up a new manufacturing facility, and other routine testing/lab support as needed. Tasks include endotoxin testing (gel clot and kinetic method), sub-visible particulate testing, sterility testing, and supporting media fills. Proper GMP documentation guidelines will be adhered to, along with our own standards and requirements. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally across engineering, manufacturing, and quality departments.

Hard Skills

• Microbiology laboratory experience (1-2 years)

• GMP (1-2 years)

• Pipetting experience in a regulated lab

• Endotoxin testing experience (gel clot or kinetic method)

Soft Skills

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to work cross-functionally

Work Environment

Microbiology lab environment spent mostly on the bench, located in a large sterile injectable manufacturing facility. Some time will be spent in an office setting on a computer. Most of the time will be spent in the microbiological laboratories. Will work independently on their assigned sample load and interact with management and validation as needed. Working hours are typically M-F 1st shift day schedule, 40 hours minimum/week, with potential off hours required depending on the cycle of work and manufacturing runs. Flexibility is needed depending on business needs.
