Here’s What You Need
Master's Degree Speech Language Pathology is required Or
Other Post-Baccalaureate degree recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association is required
SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire is required Or
SLP-I - Speech Language Pathology Intern Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire is required
SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire is preferred And
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required
CCC-SLP - Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology is Strongly Preferred
What You Will Do
Performs age appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care
Obtains/verifies physician order for therapy and validates for appropriateness
Demonstrates competence in the performance of age appropriate patient assessment and individualizes care based on age specific needs.
Performs age appropriate patient treatment Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment
Motivates non-compliant or unmotivated patients to participate in therapy.
Demonstrates Professional accountability
Utilizes available resources (equipment, support personnel, educational resources) to maximize efficiency and productivity and to meet personal developmental needs.
As required, participates appropriately in departmental safety drills / emergency procedures
Performs Appropriate Documentation
Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines
Documents and reports unusual occurrences, on the job injuries, and medical device malfunctioning
Other Significant Activities in Addition to Job Responsibilities/Competencies
Participates in strategies to meet business initiatives and unit/team, program, and department specific goals and targets
