The Design Center is a spectacular new interactive showroom experience. Our showroom, unlike any other with endless inspiration everywhere you look, thanks to our 30+ interactive kitchen, bath, and laundry rooms. Customers will explore hundreds of products from the most innovative brands in appliances, cabinetry, fixtures and more!
Position Purpose:
The HDDC Design Concierge is the first point of contact for clients. They are responsible for handling front office reception and administration duties, including greeting and educating clients about The Home Depot Design Center, conducting the design qualification process, scheduling appointments, and handling basic inquiries. The HDDC Design Concierge will also coordinate front-desk activities, including distributing correspondence and phone calls. They should provide customers with a world class experience when they enter The Home Depot Design Center. This may include offering customers a beverage, introducing products or services, conducting tours, or answering questions.
Key Responsibilities:
80% Customer Service
Greets client when entering
Assists walk-in clients through the qualification process
Schedules client appointments with designers
Prioritizes client scheduling conflicts, dealing with high priorities first
Answers phone calls from clients, vendors, stores, etc. and routes to the appropriate party
Provides basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
Provides visitors with assistance in locating people/departments/directions within the Home Depot Design Center
Prepares and provides customers with quality beverages (e.g., coffee and water)
20% Office Support
Updates calendars and schedules meetings for associates
Coordinates culinary activities
Receives, sorts, and distributes daily mail/deliveries
Ensures reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary materials (e.g. pens, forms, and brochures)
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
This position reports to the HDDC Supervisor.
This position has no direct reports.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a Design Concierge, Front Office Representative or similar role
Some experience in Design, Retail, Specialty Sales, etc.
Preferred experience prospecting customers and gathering customer information
Certification in Office Management is a plus
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Ability to work independently
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Minimum Education:
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
