Job Details Senior Speech Language Pathologist Must be able to work Weekend and Holiday rotation Part time position Responsibilities include: • Administers Speech Therapy treatments per provider referral and in accordance with NYS practice act • Performs comprehensive speech language and swallow evaluations • Develops appropriate treatment plans with realistic, functional goals • Observes patients' response to treatment physically and psychologically and adjusts the treatment plan accordingly Communicates with physicians and other health care providers to coordinate and provide appropriate care • Educates nursing and other hospital staff regarding diet recommendations and appropriate compensatory strategies Performs daily operations in Speech department including scheduling tasks for inpatient rehab and acute care • Assists new staff with implementation of treatment ideas, and provides in service training as needed Leads department meetings at regular intervals • Serves as a mentor to Speech Therapy staff, providing support and assisting with problems and issues • Assists Director of Therapeutic Services and inpatient Supervisor with staff competencies, performance improvement indicators, and new programs and initiatives Manages all equipment including upkeep, replacement, repair as needed Ensures appropriate staff SLP productivity as determined by Director • Participates in the student training program by being a clinical instructor Prepares for and participates in regulatory surveys Qualifications include: • MA or MS in Speech Language Pathology required Must actively hold CCC’s • Current NYS license required • BLS required • 4 years of experience required, preferably in inpatient adult setting Salary Range USD $45.32 - USD $67.98 /Yr. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
