Health First System Director Security - Health First Safety in Rockledge, Florida

POSITION SUMMARY

The System Security Director is responsible for providing oversight and strategic direction for safety and protection services 24/7/365 for all associates, volunteers, patients, visitors, and other customers throughout all entities within the Integrated Delivery Network. The System Security Director partners with leaders throughout the IDN to prevent or mitigate risks and threats to safe and secure operations.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develops, executes, oversees, and evaluates an operational strategy to effectively optimize organizational resources in the performance of system security operations in the areas including but not limited to: o Surveillance and protection o Armed and unarmed security officers o Fleet management o Mailroom o Courier services o Locksmith services o Badging services o Valet services o Hazardous Materials Program
  • Defines and communicates a clear, compelling vision for the Safety Department that effectively ties into the mission and vision of Health First and inspirationally leads the team to achieve that vision.
  • Assists with scoping prospective engagements and developing proposals, conducts risk, threat, and gap assessments, provides written recommendations, interfaces with clients.
  • Ensures integration of security systems, processes and programs with operations and legislative requirements.
  • Collaborates with division and entity leadership, operational and clinical services areas to identify, curate and scale best practices.
  • Presents operational strategy recommendations to the Executive Leadership team.
  • Produces annual operational forecast, monitors performance, and initiates corrective action to ensure forecast and budgets are attained.
  • Provides disciplined financial reporting and recommends methods of cost recovery.
  • Represents Health First in a positive and highly professional manner while cultivating relationships and partnerships across organizations, vendor partners and communities in which we operate.
  • Monitors compliance with all applicable federal, state and local legislation and codes governing environmental health, security and safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintains compliance with safety and risk management practices and policies.
  • Possesses and maintains extensive knowledge of (TJC) The Joint Commission Environment of Care Standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Criminal Justice, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
  • Licensure: o Florida MB (Security Agency Manager) License, or the ability to obtain the license. o Current, Class “D” Security Officer License, and maintain. o Current, Class “G” Statewide Firearm License, and maintain. o Current Class “C” Private Investigator License, and maintain. o Current, valid driver’s license required. State of Florida driver’s license required within 30 days of establishing Florida residency and maintain. o Clean State of Florida Motor Vehicle Record, and maintain.
  • Certification: Must hold American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider card prior to start and maintain.
  • Work Experience: o Five (5) years of professional level management experience including technology, risk mitigation, and physical security, some of which in a hospital environment of care. o Work history with a demonstrated knowledge of (TJC) The Joint Commission. o Environment of Care.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, stooping.
  • Long periods of computer time or at workstation.
  • Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
  • May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
  • Workspace may vary from open to confined; on site or remote.
  • May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
