Robert Half Accounting Supervisor in Rockland, Massachusetts

Description

We are offering an opportunity for an Accounting Manager in the Service industry, located in Norwell, MA. This role involves overseeing the month-end close process, maintaining and reporting on judgmental accounting estimates, preparing and reviewing complex balance sheet account reconciliations, and interacting with both external and internal auditors. You will also have the chance to coach and develop other team members and participate in strategic projects.

Responsibilities:

• Engage and communicate with senior executives on various accounting and finance matters

• Oversee the month-end close process to ensure results are reported accurately and timely

• Maintain and report on judgmental accounting estimates on a monthly basis

• Prepare and review reconciliations of balance sheet accounts that are more complex in nature

• Post and review monthly journal entries

• Act as a primary point of contact with external and internal auditors during annual audits and quarterly reviews

• Provide coaching and development to other team members

• Participate in the annual budget/monthly forecast process

• Opportunities to participate in strategic projects supporting other parts of the business and subject to greater visibility across the organization

Requirements

• Proficiency with Month End Close operations necessary

• Experience with Adjusting Journal Entries required

• Ability to Review Journal Entries effectively is essential

• Skilled in Recording Journal Entries

• Proficiency in Financial Reporting is a must

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required

Minimum of 4 years accounting experience and ideally 2 years in public

• Excellent communication and leadership skills required

• Knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite necessary

• Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask effectively

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required

• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA preferred

• Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information is essential

• Familiarity with accounting standards and regulations necessary

• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
