Position Summary:

Responsible for ensuring customer transactions are handled in a prompt, professional manner and assists customer with account setup and maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Receives checks and cash for deposit, verifies amount, and examines checks for endorsements.
  2. Cashes checks and pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances.
  3. Places holds on accounts for uncollected funds.
  4. Records and balances currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer and vault throughout shift and compare totaled amounts with data displayed on computer screen.
  5. Completes necessary tasks to open and close branch.
  6. Exercises dual control when needed to process bank by mail transactions, night depository, and vault.
  7. May count and balance funds in ATM and balance coin machine as needed by location.
  8. Accepts all types of loan payments.
  9. Handles a variety of miscellaneous products and services, including cashiers checks, money orders, credit card cash advances, property tax and loan payments, license stickers, gift cards, etc.
  10. Completes large currency transaction and license sticker reports and coin and currency tracking.
  11. Evaluates needs of potential customers and offers appropriate financial products and services.
  12. Prepares and compiles new customer application and information and documents to open new accounts including checking, savings, money market, Certificates of Deposits, and Safe Deposit Boxes.
  13. Responds to customer inquiries and requests regarding account and additional banking services.
  14. Completes Bankers Edge courses with passing grade by scheduled due date.
  15. Serve as lead person to assist CSRs with daily activities; approve exceptions to check cashing and deposit acceptance policies within established guidelines; assist with daily workflow for Teller Area; Aid leadership with compliance to Teller operations policy and procedure.
  16. Provides back-up assistance to receptionist and Customer access to Safe Deposit Box area as needed.

Technical: Knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, Internet software. Knowledge of Jack Henry, Deposit Pro, or Laser Pro Software.
