I. Position Summary: Coordinate the implementation of individualized mental health and substance abuse treatment. Provide ongoing evaluation, assessment, and counseling to youth and their families under the direct clinical supervision of a licensed mental health professional. II. Essential Duties: Provide individual, group, and family therapy. Document the clinical course of treatment - weekly progress notes, master treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, and aftercare/transition plans. Develop youth behavioral health discharge plan and aftercare plan. Assess the dynamics and functioning level of each family in case load and then formulate and implement intervention plan(s). Collaborate with leadership and performance improvement activities by conducting periodic reviews to ensure compliance with YOI policy and agency requirements. III. Other Duties Include, But Not Limited to: Participate in daily group site routines and activities with youth and counselors. Maintain a high standard of role model behavior for youth. Participate in training and development activities as required. Report any acts, incidents or conditions that reflect the possibility of inappropriate youth-to-youth or staff-to-youth relationships. Report any use of physical force and all unusual incidents per guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned or needed. IV. Position in Organization: A. Reports to: LMHP B. Directly supervises: N/A V. Relationships: A. Internal: All Facility Staff B. External: Families and Legal Guardians Other community agencies VI. Education, Experience, other Qualifications: A. Education - A Masters degree, from an accredited university or college in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, rehabilitation, special education, or in a related human services field, is required. B. Experience - Two years experience working with children with serious emotional disturbances or substance abuse problems. If the candidate has a masters degree in an appropriate field, the experience requirement is preferred, but not required. Experience with group work techniques is a plus. C. Skills - A sound understanding of group leadership, group dynamics, and experiential education. Advanced oral and written communication skills. D. Physical Demands - Must be in good physical health and emotionally stable. Must be able to move about the property. Must be able to participate in youth activities. Must be able to transport youth or staff. Must be free of communicable diseases as defined by the state and to the extent that data is attainable under the law. Must be able to pass evaluation of physical techniques and written certification exam. E. Other - Must maintain an appropriate and valid state drivers license. Must meet state criminal background check requirements. Must be able to occasionally work irregular hours.
