Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Database Administrator in the life insurance industry. This role is located in Rock Island, Illinois, and involves managing on-prem servers and maintaining Azure cloud databases.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain on-prem servers to ensure optimal performance and security.

• Perform regular checks and implement updates as needed on the SQL server.

• Utilize PowerShell scripting for system maintenance and troubleshooting.

• Oversee Azure cloud database, ensuring its smooth operation and resolving any issues as they arise.

• Carry out backup and recovery protocols on the SQL server to prevent data loss.

• Conduct configuration management to maintain system stability and efficiency.

• Administer the database, ensuring data is correctly stored and easily accessible.

• Utilize skills in Microsoft SQL, MS SQL Server 2005, and MS SQL Server 2008 for optimal database management.

• Leverage Microsoft Azure and Azure SQL Database knowledge to maintain and enhance cloud-based systems.

• Implement MySQL and backup technologies to support data storage and protection. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a related role.

• Proficient in Microsoft Azure and Azure SQL Database.

• Knowledge and experience in Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and MS SQL Server 2005, 2008.

• Experience in Database Administration, Configuration Management, and Backup Technologies.

• Must have hands-on experience in MS SQL Server.

• Familiarity with Microsoft SQL is essential.

• Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain database systems.

• Familiarity with industry best practices in database management and security.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively with other IT professionals.
