Stella Jones Corporation Production Supervisor - 2422 in Rochester, Washington

Position Details Stella Jones is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the team at our utility pole peeling plant in Rochester, Washington (located 20 miles southwest of Olympia). This 10-person facility plays a role in augmenting our pole production capacity in the US and Canada. In this site leadership role, you will manage all facets of the facility's daily operations (including peeling, framing and mobile equipment operations), and will lead this location's commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, quality, and efficiency.   • Manage day-to-day plant operations and team members, ensuring production targets are met consistently.
  • Monitor and maintain the highest standards of safety, environmental responsibility, quality, and efficiency.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and safe work environment.
  • Oversee inventory, supply chain management, and resource allocation to ensure optimal production.
  • Address challenges, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective measures as required.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, staying updated with industry trends and best practices.
  • Communicate with senior management, reporting on plant performance, and recommending strategic improvements.
  • Establish and optimize relationships with plant neighbors, local authorities, businesses, schools and others to optimize the plant's overall presence in the community.
  • Interprets product specifications and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Coordinates quality control inspections for compliance to standard specifications.
  • Leads and contributes to the company safety program at the facility.
  • Responsible for scheduling maintenance for all plant equipment and property.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of work experience in the manufacturing industry required; Ten or more years preferred
  • Two or more years of Production Supervisor or other plant leadership experience in an industrial manufacturing environment highly preferred
  • Experience in the wood products manufacturing industry preferred
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office required;SAP experience preferred
