Job Description:

Become a team member of Defense Operations that supports a variety of high reliability electronic communication products and systems. Provide end-to-end support from receiving to shipping and from early design to full rate production. Guide the design for testing of new products/programs and maintain products in full production to ensure the highest quality and safety standards are met while exceeding customer expectations. Initiate, lead, and support continuous improvement activities that include analysis for new equipment, tooling, and fixtures.

Essential Functions:

  • Guide and train lower-level engineers and technicians on manual and automated test processes and procedures

  • Implement engineering level changes to complex RF/analog/digital test and troubleshoot systems.

  • Develop, debug, optimize test software using National Instruments LabVIEW, and TestStand

  • Use a variety of test and measurement equipment to evaluate radio equipment performance.

  • Analyze and support need for additional production capacity and capability across supported production lines.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and conceptualize innovative solutions to drive strategic initiatives with organizational impact such as test time reductions and yield improvements.

  • Implement and maintain cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting equipment and systems.

  • Review test and diagnostic software, design test fixtures, complete test procedures for new and existing products and programs.

  • Document test hardware and software in alignment with test engineering standards

  • Ensures production goals & metrics are met from a test perspective.

  • Create/Update test station documentation items such as MTP’s, Station BOM’s, AMR’s, and TSW’s.

  • Maintain, update, and troubleshoot complex digital and RF test systems.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience in manufacturing systems, production processes technical standards and equipment.

  • Understanding of L3Harris new and legacy products

  • Experience reading schematics and troubleshooting to component level

  • Experience with Automated Test Systems, LabVIEW preferred

  • Good communicates with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.

  • Broad knowledge of project management and leading the execution of processes, projects, tactics, and employees within a team.
