Job Summary: TEKsystems is seeking a skilled Security Technician to join our team on a long-term W-2 contract-to-hire basis supporting the Rochester area. The ideal candidate will have experience with CCTV, access controls, security systems, and cameras. This role involves installing, programming, and maintaining security systems in commercial facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, program, and maintain CCTV, access control, and other security systems.

• Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of security equipment.

• Conduct system tests and inspections to ensure proper functionality.

• Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs and provide solutions.

• Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.

• Provide technical support and training to clients on the use of security systems.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience with CCTV, access controls, security systems, and cameras.

• Experience in installing, programming, and maintaining security systems in commercial settings.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams, blueprints, and manuals.

• Strong understanding of network infrastructure related to security systems.

• Familiarity with various security system software and hardware.

Certifications:

• Relevant certifications such as FASA/BASA, NICET, or equivalent are highly desirable.

• Manufacturer-specific certifications (e.g., Honeywell, Bosch, Axis) are a plus.

Problem-Solving:

• Excellent troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues with security systems.

• Ability to perform system tests and inspections to ensure proper functionality.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Comfortable working in various environments, including heights and confined spaces.

Other Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

• Local travel required can range from as far west as Buffalo and potentially as far east as Syracuse required.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
