FIFCO USA Sanitation Manager in Rochester, New York

JOB SUMMARY

The Sanitation Manager is responsible for the management and execution of quality assurance/control programs and sanitation protocols and program. In addition, this position manages employees within the quality laboratories (Analytical, Sensory, Microbiology) and Sanitation Department (Environmental Services and Industrial Cleaning).

STATUS: Full Time

JOB TYPE: Exempt

SHIFT: Monday-Friday daylight, as needed evenings/weekends

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures effectiveness of all CIP systems and COP process through completion of validation activities.

  • Guides plant sanitation and third-party vendor sanitation crew in the effective use of chemicals, COP, and CIP cleaning processes, Environmental sanitation, and sanitary design.

  • Design Master Sanitation Schedules. Implement metrics to track completion and effectiveness of schedules.

  • Develop and lead initiatives to improve audit readiness and scoring on 3rd party food safety audits.

  • Lead and guides facility during special plant sanitation issues including microbiological and environmental control.

  • Responsible for training and education of plant sanitation leaders, team associates & contractors with the help of our third-party chemical suppliers as needed.

  • Responsible for pest control operations and works with 3rd party vendors to ensure activities, procedures and record keeping are compliant. Serve as the main point of contact between operations/supply chain and 3rd party pest control regarding issues, audits, service, and coordination of activities.

  • Conduct routine sanitation and pest control assessments to ensure the consistent application and execution of procedures and all related practices

  • Provide leadership and guidance (proactively and reactively) to Operations in relation to internal, regulatory, second party and third-party audits. With the assistance of the department managers, lead the sanitation review for all audits while acting as the primary representative for pest control.

  • Ensure sanitation requirements are met or exceeded based on customer/contract

  • Support projects (new lines, equipment, etc.) by providing subject matter expert guidance as needed and through participation in the Food Safety and Quality Risk Assessment Program. Utilize third-party chemical and sanitation vendors to aid in project support.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science related field is preferred

  • 5 years of related experience

  • 2 years in a Quality Management position in a food/beverage production facility is preferred

  • Trained in federal food and or TTB standards and/or Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) is highly preferred

  • Brewing Chemistry experience or knowledge is a plus

  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands or arms.

  • Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

  • The employee must occasionally bend, climb, lift and move up to 50 pounds.

  • Work Environment

  • Ability to work with moving mechanical parts and loud noise levels.

  • Ability to work with hazardous chemicals and frequently duck under conveyors and equipment.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $84,600 – 127,000/year, not including benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at FIFCO USA, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition, we also believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to enable future & continued salary growth. We also offer a generous benefits package!
