University of Rochester Pediatric Aerodigestive Multidisciplinary Clinic - RN, Nurse Navigator in Rochester, New York

Responsibilities

Hospital. This care team consists of pediatric clinicians working collaboratively in the areas of allergy, gastroenterology, nutrition, otolaryngology, pulmonology, speech-pathology, social work, surgery, and sleep medicine. They will be the point person to help build and maintain the aerodigestive patient database, serve as the face of the program through family outreach, and be present during the OR scope days as a patient liaison. Will work with all of the involved departments to collate and share results of GI biopsies, labs, pulmonary imaging, sleep studies, swallow studies, and other results as needed for the patients/families and the clinical team members. Once study results are reviewed by the team, will help convey the care plan to patients and their families. Responsibilities include: being an active liaison between patients and physicians/providers via telephone and electronic medical record. Receiving, assessing, managing, and triaging all clinical information from the patient/family to and from the care team. Responsible for assessing patient needs (i.e prioritizing which specialties each patient may need during clinic days) and relaying this information to scheduling and to the medical team allowing them to utilize nursing assessments in medical decision making. The patient population is ambulatory and spans the full pediatric age-range. Interested candidates should have excellent skills in; communication, organization, analyzing and synthesizing information using the nursing process. At least 2 years nursing experience preferred with a NYS nursing license required

Qualifications

Bachelor in Nursing required; if currently an Associate's Degree RN, nurse has 5 years to complete the BSN. Three to Five years of Nursing experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required competence in critical thinking, interpersonal relationships and technical skills. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in NYS; certification in a Nursing specialty area preferred.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $36.37 - $47.28

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
