Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Full Charge Bookkeeper in Rochester, New York. The role is in a Foster & Adoption Agency and will involve the handling of various accounting functions, clerical duties, and bookkeeping tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process invoices, deposits, and foster parent payments

• Keep up-to-date records in QuickBooks for accurate tracking and reporting

• Handle phone intake and manage mail distribution

• Undertake clerical tasks to ensure the smooth running of the agency

• Manage interactions with insurance portals and contracts

• Monitor and maintain accounts payable and receivable

• Ensure the accuracy of all accounting functions within the agency. Requirements • Proficiency in all accounting functions, including the preparation of financial statements and reports

• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Ability to effectively use QuickBooks for all financial processes

• Proven experience in performing clerical duties such as filing, answering phone calls, and handling correspondence

• Strong bookkeeping skills with a keen attention to detail

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make well-judged decisions

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field

• Detail oriented certification as a certified bookkeeper is preferred

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a full charge bookkeeper or in a similar role.
